Celebrate National Gum Care Month with Our Team

Every September we join other periodontists across America to celebrate National Gum Care Month. The event raises awareness of the importance of good oral hygiene and regular professional checkups required to keep mouths, teeth and gums as healthy as possible. We offer numerous preventative services, including laser gum surgery, that allow our patients to enjoy a stunning smile and good overall health. Celebrate with us this month as we share information about what you can do to prevent and treat gum disease

How Can Gum Disease Be Prevented?
The best way to avoid developing gum disease is by preventing it. There are several steps that you should take on a daily basis to ensure that your mouth is clean and clear of the bacteria that can lead to the condition. Make sure that every day you do the following:

  • Brush: At least twice a day, but ideally after every meal.
  • Floss: Get rid of the gunk between your teeth at least once a day.
  • Mouthwash: Any bits left behind after brushing and flossing can be rinsed away with a daily swish of mouthwash.
  • Understand Your Risks: If there is anything that puts you at a greater risk for developing gum disease, such as your age or your genetics, it is best to be aware so that you can take even more preventative measures.

These steps will keep the bacteria that leads to gum disease at bay as long as you are consistent and regular.

What If You Already Have Gum Disease?

If you have already shown signs of gum disease, it is important to start or continue your treatment. We offer LANAP® laser gum surgery to treat any diseased tissues before they become an even bigger problem.
